Time out at Perry’s Cider
Since giving up the ‘proper job’ to run the Bed & Breakfast, I’ve developed a strong aversion to sitting at a desk! It’s hard to believe that for over 20 years I spent most of my days sitting behind one desk or another; now the thought of it is enough to have me searching out even the most tedious of jobs just to avoid it. It’s quite incredible how appealing the ironing pile can look.
So this morning I thought I’d seek refuge in Perry’s Cider Mill and enjoy a cup of coffee made by someone else. It’s such a treat to walk all of about 50 yards from my gate to Perry’s – many a time the fabulous farm shop has saved me from a larder malfunction! The tearoom looked particularly cheery today following a recent revamp and a lovely place to enjoy a cappucino and write this blog. It might be a bit of a grey day today but it won’t be long before I’ll be able to sit outside amongst the cider apple trees in full blossom and in warm spring sunshine.
The Perry family have been making cider since 1920 and jolly good it is too! So, if like me you’re looking for a distraction from your daily slog I would recommend taking some time out at Perry’s Cider – while away the time with lovely coffee and a slice of homemade cake, chat to the very friendly Perry’s team, sample their fabulous range of award winning ciders and stock up on a whole range of local goodies. My guests love it – a real Somerset experience and right on the doorstep.
